A man has held police at bay for over 2 hours during a siege near Lake Macquarie last night.
Just before midnight this morning, police responded to reports that a man on outstanding warrants was at an address on Main Road in Boolaroo.
The man was on the roof when police they arrived and he allegedly made threats and threw roof tiles onto the street.
Six people were evacuated from the home, before police negotiated with the the 30-year-old man to climb down from the roof just before 2:30am.
He was arrested without incident and taken to John Hunter Hospital where he remains under police guard.
