TEEN CHARGED OVER ALLEGED BAKER ASSAULT IN SOUTH TAMWORTH
A teenager has been charged following an assault in the state’s North West.
Shortly before 5am on Saturday, a 49-year-old man was leaving his work at a bakery, when he was allegedly assaulted near the intersection of Robert Street and Woodward Avenue in South Tamworth.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, then airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with serious head injuries.
He remains in a stable condition.
A 23-year-old Westdale man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested at the scene
The teenager has been was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail and will appear at a Children’s Court tomorrow.
The 23-year-old has since been released.
