SNAKES LURKING IN FLOOD WATERS
A snake has photobombed an SES volunteer as she presented a video message warning the public about the dangers of finding the poisonous animals lurking in floodwater.
Video posted to the NSW SES YouTube account at the weekend shows a volunteer standing near floodwater in Bellingen talking about the dangers of encountering snakes following a storm when one happened to swim past.
The SES worker stopped what she was doing and pointed to the animal as it casually swam through a flooded rural road.
“We are here talking about the danger of floodwater and we were literally just talking about snakes and look who showed up to the party,” the woman said.
Snakes can move almost as easily in the water as on land but can become agitated and aggressive when forced to do so.
