Hunter Paralympian Kurt Fearnley has delivered the Commonwealth Games baton to the Queen at Buckingham Palace, ahead of next year’s games on the Gold Coast.
He carried it from Green Park and down the iconic Mall to Buckingham Palace, marking the start of the baton’s 230,000-kilometre journey.
The Queen then placed her official message inside, which won’t be read until the start of the Games, and passed it to Cyclist and Olympic champion Anna Meares.
