FUR SEAL SPOTTED ON BALLINA ROCK WALL

Morning walkers quickly became marine conservationists at Ballina today – after noticing a New Zealand Fur seal pup stranded on the Richmond River’s north wall.

It’s thought the animal, first noticed around 9.30, may have washed onto the rocks at high tide.

Experts say the behaviour is normal, and the seal is expected to be fine.
