Police say the owner of two dogs will be issued with a penalty notice in the coming days, over an attack at Metford on Monday night.
Five people, including two children, were injured during the incident at Chelmsford Drive Park.
Police have now interviewed the victims and witnesses.
“The owner of the dogs was actually spoken to as well and police at this stage have evidence they believe is sufficient to proceed with an offence under the companion animals act,” said Inspector Peter Vromans from Central Hunter Police.
The two bull mastiffs were seized by Maitland Council… one is expected to be euthanised tomorrow.
