MOTORBIKE RIDER DIES AFTER COLLIDING WITH A TRUCK AT ALSTONVILLE

A motorbike rider has died following a collision involving a truck near Alstonville around midday.

It’s believed the male rider had turned from Ballina Road onto the Bruxner Highway and was in the merging lane when the crash happened.

He died at the scene.

The driver of the truck wasn’t hurt and was taken for mandatory testing.

The highway was closed for several hours while the scene was cleared.
