APVMA STAFF FORCED TO WORK OUT OF ARMIDALE MACDONALDS
It’s not just paleo pear and banana bread causing red faces in Canberra right now.
A Senate estimates hearing has heard staff from the recently-relocated Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicine Authority have been forced to work out of an Armidale McDonald’s, because there’s no office space in the city.
“We had confirmed in senate estimates yesterday that the APVMA 2 is in crisis. This is bad news for our farms sector, it’s bad news for exports, it’s bad news for every pet owner in this country.”
All this as the Deputy Prime Minister launched a campaign, urging regional Australians to support decentralisation.
“The national party represents regioNal areas, it is absolutely in our DNA that we will be looking to develop other areas and other town to get the largess of government gain.”
A senate inquiry into decentralisation is underway.
