TRAFFIC LIGHTS HIGH ON COUNCIL’S AGENDA

Traffic lights in Tamworth could be on the move, if Councillors take on board recommendations from Roads and Maritime Services.
A report says lights at the intersection of Fitzroy and Marius Streets would significantly increase pedestrian safety.
It’s also been suggested the current set between White and Fitzroy Streets gets moved a block south.
The potential changes come as Council seeks community feedback on a proposal to turn the CBD into a 40 kilometres per hour speed limit, ‘high pedestrian activity’ zone.
They’ll all be considered at next Tuesday’s ordinary meeting.
