POLICE OFFICER HOSPITALISED IN COFFS HARBOUR ARREST

A police officer has been hospitalised after a violent arrest on the mid north coast over the weekend.
Around 9pm on Saturday, police responded to reports of a domestic violence incident on Camperdown Street in Coffs Harbour.
Officers were forced to use capsicum spray during the arrest of a 33-year-old male.
A male senior constable also sustained a neck injury in the incident. He was taken to hospital for treatment, before being released yesterday.
The 33-year-old was charged with destroy or damage property, intimidation, resist officer in execution of duty, and self administer/attempt self administer prohibited drug.
He will appear in local court tomorrow.
