CAROONA GRASS FIRE VICTIM SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES

A man who suffered burns while helping to battle a grass fire in the north-west last week, has died of his injuries.
The fire broke out last Thursday in a paddock on a rural property on Coonabarabran Road, Caroona, about 50km south of Gunnedah.
A 36-year-old man driving a front-end loader sustained severe burns to his body while assisting in extinguishing the blaze.
He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
Unfortunately he died from his injuries on Saturday.
