One of Tamworth’s key freight roads will be upgraded in a bid to improve B-double access to the city.
Six kilometres of Appleby Lane, between the Oxley Highway and Gidley-Appleby Road, will be widened and sealed.
The intersection of Manilla Road and Appleby Lane will also receive a makeover – the upgrades giving trucks better access to the Glen Artney Industrial Area.
The $4.3-million project will be jointly funded by local, state and federal governments.
It’s expected to be completed by October.
