Tingha is one step closer to becoming part of the Inverell Shire, as discussions continue about renegotiating an acceptable boundary.
Armidale Administrator Dr Ian Tiley, Inverell Mayor Paul Harmon and Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall have agreed to absorb Green Valley Farm into the new region, located to the east of Tingha.
Armidale Regional Council is set to write to 50 households in George’s Creek, located south-west of the proposed boundary, to determine which local government area they’d prefer.
Residents will be given 28 days to respond, with the outcome determined on a majority rules basis.
