PANEL TO REVIEW MURRAY DARLING BASIN PLAN
An expert panel will be set up to review the Murray Darling Basin Plan and its impact on basin communities.
Established by the New South Wales and Victorian Governments, the panel will ensure regions will see environmental benefits without being impacted financially.
Following the release of the Northern Basin Review in November last year, towns in the Namoi catchment will have their downstream allocations reduced from 390 gigalitres to 320.
The panel will report back to the each state’s relevant ministries in mid-March.
