A man is facing a string of offences, following a serious domestic assault at Kempsey on the mid north coast.
Police allege the man assaulted a 33-year-old woman several times in the River Street property on Tuesday night, before dousing her in petrol and threatening to set her on fire.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old, while the woman was treated by paramedics.
She was taken to Kempsey Hospital for further treatment.
The man is facing several charges including assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
