- Large parts of the country are facing the worst heatwave conditions to hit in years. Northern New South Wales is bracing for record-breaking temperatures, with some areas forecast to hit the mid to high 40s. People are being urged to keep hydrated and keep an eye on elderly or frail neighbours in the coming days.
- Joy riding hoons have been caught on camera doing burn outs and weaving through suburban streets near a primary school west of Melbourne. The vehicle was later set on fire.
- The boyfriend of a Victorian woman, killed in a jet ski accident in Thailand, is expected to be charged. Police have accused 22-year-old Thomas Keating of reckless driving, when his jet ski crashed into one being driven by Emily Collie. He insists it was an accident. Ms Collie’s parents have now arrived in Phuket, where they met with senior police leading the investigation.
- A huge explosion has rocked a chemical plant in eastern China. Video has emerged of the stunning moment the blast lit up the night sky – sparking a massive fire.
- Rolf Harris could walk free from prison within months, after a jury found him NOT guilty of indecent assault.
- A mudslide has caused a family home to collapse in California. Emergency crews raced to the scene after reports a tree was about to tumble over – only for the house to crash down as well.
