In a massive blow to indigenous rugby league – Northern United will not contest the 2017 NRRRL season.
The Dirawongs were stood down by league officials today, after failing to resolve financial and governance issues.
NRRRL president Robin Harley acknowledges the decision is disappointing, but says if the club can rebuild, it’s welcome to re-enter the competition next year.
