Paramedics are treating a man, following an accident involving an excavator on the mid north coast this afternoon.
A spokesperson for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter says the man was digging out a dam on a property at Charlotte Bay, when the machine slid and rolled into the water.
The 43-year-old was trapped for more than two hours, with a neighbour alerting authorities after hearing his calls for help.
RFS crews pumped water out of the dam and managed to free him.
It’s understood the man may be suffering from hypothermia.
He’s now being airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital.
