BATKOVIC INCREASES HER CHANCES OF A FIFTH WNBL MVP AWARD

Her team may not be dominating the WNBL as it has in recent seasons, but the Hunter’s Suzy Batkovic is still a serious contender to win a record fifth MVP award.
The 36 year old led the Townsville Fire to back to back wins over Dandenong and Bendigo on the road in consecutive days, to earn her third player of the week award for 2016/17.
Against Dandenong, she had 26 points and 11 rebounds.
She backed that up with 31 points, seven boards and four blocks against the Spirit, as the Fire maintained fourth spot on the ladder.
