BELMONT MAN TRIES TO DISPOSE OF DRUGS HIDDEN IN PANTS DURING POLICE SEARCH
A 50-year-old man has been charged, after he took a bag of suspected drugs from his pants and threw it into a drain, while in the presence of police.
The accused was stopped on Herbert Street in Belmont about 5pm yesterday, when he was allegedly seen throwing a cigarette from his blue Holden Astra.
After speaking with the man police began to search the car, when it’s alleged he took a bag of drugs hidden in his pants and tried to throw them into a drain.
The drug was believed to be Methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of almost $3500.
The man was charged with a number of offences including, driving a motor vehicle while not carrying a licence, littering and drug supply
He will appear before Belmont Local Court next month.
