MAN JAILED OVER ONE PUNCH DEATH OF RETIREE

A man has been sentenced to at least six years in prison for the one punch death of a man at Mannering Park in 2013.

Graeme Wilton, a retiree, was on an afternoon walk in December that year, when he got into an altercation with 22-year-old Kaine Jones who was driving a modified car. Mr Wilton had complained about his driving.

Jones struck Mr Wilton in the jaw, the force knocking him heavily to the ground. Witnesses say Jones then did a burnout when he left the scene.

Jones was this morning jailed for a minimum of six years in a Sydney court.

Outside the court, Mr Wilton’s wife of 37 years, Marlene said of the sentence, “it is what it is.”
