Police are searching for a man over a spate of attempted carjackings at Mayfield last night.
The first took place at around 11-o’clock on Maitland Road…when he threatened a 20-year-old man with a screwdriver outside a fast food restaurant.
He fled when the victim refused to hand over the keys to his car.
Around two hours later, he’s believed to have then threatened a 66-year-old taxi driver on Industrial Drive.
A fight then broke out, with the man falling out of the passenger side and fleeing.
The third incident took place at around just after 2am at a convenience store on Maitland Road.
A 32-year-old man sustained several small wounds to his neck and head during a struggle with the armed man.
He’s described as being of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, aged between 25 to 30, around 168-centimetres tall with a slim build.
