TAMWORTH AND GORE CELEBRATE 25 YEARS AS SISTER CITIES

Tamworth’s longest-standing sister city agreement was given a boost today, as Mayor Col Murray and the Mayor of Gore, Tracy Hicks signed a new visiting protocol.

Today marks the 25th anniversary since the first protocol was signed between the two towns.

Gore is a small town on the south island of New Zealand which shares a similar love for country music.

“25 years is a long time, and there’s been a lot of individuals involved along those years but I’d suggest that pretty much everybody who’s been involved has set the connection up one way or another.”
