Legendary artist and national treasure, John Olsen, has returned to his hometown for a special celebration.
The painter marked his 89th birthday at the Newcastle Art Gallery, while also launching the exhibition, ‘The City’s Son’.
It features 35 works, which reflect Mr Olsen’s affection for the Hunter’s waterways.
It runs until February 19.
