THREE CHARGED WITH DRUG SUPPLY FOLLOWING RAIDS IN MOREE
Police have charged three men with drug supply offences, following raids in the Moree area.
Strike Force SASSAFRA searched nine properties in Moree and Ashley this week, seizing large sums of cash, firearms, drugs and drug paraphernalia.
They also allegedly seized multiple vehicles during the raids including a motorbike, a quad bike and a boat, believed to be proceeds of crime.
On Tuesday, officers searched seven homes in the Ashley area and arrested two men aged 34 and 23.
They’ve been charged with ongoing supply of a prohibited drug and participating in a criminal group and will face court next week.
On Wednesday, officers conducted another two raids in Moree, where a 24-year-old man was arrested.
He was charged with ongoing supply of a prohibited drug and participating in a criminal group.
He was refused bail due to face Moree Local Court in March.
Strike Force SASSAFRA’s investigation has uncovered 300 grams of ice, with an estimated street value between $500,000-$1,000,000.
“Detectives attached to Strike Force SASSAFRA have been working tirelessly over the past nine months to bring to resolution one of the largest operations seen in Western Region for some time,” said Barwon LAC Commander Paul McDonald.
“The severity of the charges levelled against these offenders is above anything seen in Barwon Local Area Command before.”
“I cannot adequately express my pride and admiration for the officers involved in this investigation. They should all be extremely proud of the work they have done for this community.”
