MORE SUPPORT FOR TAMWORTH INDOOR AQUATIC CENTRE
Community support is growing for an indoor aquatic centre to be built in Tamworth.
A local indigenous health group believes having an affordable, year-round facility would help get kids off the streets and encourage them to be fit and healthy.
“I think it would help the indigenous community a lot. It will get some of the kids out and in learning how to swim, and so it reduces the rate of mortality from ages five to 10 years.”
Meanwhile, Swimming New South Wales has also signalled its support – representatives are expected to visit the region later this month to meet with local member Kevin Anderson.
