It took a spectacular free kick from young Socceroo Tommy Oar to save Australia from defeat in its opening match at the Under 20 World Cup.
The Aussies trailed Ecuador by a goal, before Oar’s effort salvaged a draw late in the game.
The game was a special occasion for Ben Kantarovski.
The Jets defender had the honour of captaining Australia, playing a solid hour of football in his first competitive match since a knee reconstruction in December.
