LOCAL SUPPORT GROUP GIVES COMMUNITY HEALTH A HELPING HAND
Health care providers in the North West have been given helping hand from the Tamworth community.
Today the local Prostate Cancer Support Group donated a new bladder scanner – worth more than $17, 000 – to the community health centre.
The scanner will mainly be used to assess bladder volumes and minimise complications for prostate cancer patients…but the transportable machine will also be used to treat many other conditions.
“It can be used in both males and females and children, because sometimes people don’t realise they’re not emptying their bladder properly so its really vital that we find that out so that we can treat it quickly.”
