NEWCASTLE FAMILY INJURED AFTER MOTOR HOME COLLIDES WITH TRUCK
A 13-year-old boy from Charlestown is in a critical condition in a Canberra hospital, after a truck collided with his family’s motor home south west of Sydney.
The collision occurred on the Hume Highway at Yarra, about 20km south of Goulburn, around 11pm last night.
The motor home rolled and struck a tree, throwing the teenager from the vehicle.
The other family members – a 43-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman, and an 11-year-old boy – were all treated at the scene, before being transported to Canberra Hospital.
The 13-year-old remains in a critical condition, while the 38-year-old woman is in a critical but stable condition.
The driver of the B-double, a 46-year-old man, was taken for mandatory blood and alcohol testing.
He has since been charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, two counts of causing bodily harm by misconduct of a motor vehicle, and negligent driving.
He will appear in local court this Friday.
