A 28-year-old man will front Newcastle Local Court today, accused of threatening a nurse and assaulting a security guard at the Mater Hospital overnight.
It’s alleged the accused threatened a nurse at about 8.55 before punching a 65-year-old security guard.
Police arrived soon after, when it’s also alleged the man threatened and spat at an officer.
The man was later arrested and taken to Waratah Police Station where he was charged with offences including assault, intimidation, assaulting an officer and resisting an officer.
