CLEAN UP BEGINS AFTER WHEAT SILO COLLAPSES
Clean-up efforts have begun following the collapse of a wheat silo near Newcastle.
The Inghams granary at Cardiff collapsed at about 4.15 yesterday afternoon, spilling grain into a nearby carpark.
Two adjacent silos were also damaged, thankfully no-one was injured.
In a statement to the media, Inghams management confirmed it’s assisting authorities in investigating the cause of the collapse.
The EPA and NSW Fire and Rescue are also attempting to keep grain from entering storm water drains.
The Inghams Cardiff plant closed its doors in August last year, after management announced the plant was too small to meet production needs.
