A man will face court after allegedly approaching a 13-year-old girl for sexual activity in Newcastle.
The teenager was at a bus stop on Hunter Street between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Friday, when she was approached by a man.
Police allege the man made spoke to the girl before they both entered a taxi.
The girl directed the taxi to an address, where she fled.
Police were contacted, and a 47-year-old man was arrested at his home yesterday.
The man was charged with procuring a child under 14 for unlawful sexual activity.
He will appear in court in February.
