Drivers are being urged to slow down and keep an eye out for koala’s in the Port Macquarie-Hastings region.
Council has painted messages on a section of Ocean Drive, where the marsupials regularly cross – and are often killed or injured.
Vegetation will also be removed from the medium strips to provide greater visibility for motorists.
Construction of a fence and upgrades to the underpasses will also be look into as possible safe passages for koalas.
