THREE MOTORBIKE CRASHES IN SIX HOURS

A 42-year-old woman has been airlifted to the Gold Coast Hospital in a critical condition following the region’s third serious motorbike crash in just six hours.
The woman came off her motorbike on Shelly Beach Road in East Ballina just after 1.30, suffering chest and abdominal injuries.
An hour later, paramedics were called to another motorbike crash on Clarence Valley Way, Tabulam, where they transported a 51-year-old man to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.
While this morning, a 61-year-old man died at the scene of another motorbike crash on the Pacific Highway near the Cudgera Creek Road off ramp, south of Tweed Heads.
Police were told a station wagon was involved in the crash, the driver uninjured, and taken to Tweed Hospital for Mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established and a brief will be prepared for the coroner.
