A man has died and another two are in a serious condition after suspected drug overdoses at a party on the Queensland-NSW border.
The Ubunye festival on Hardgrave Road at Mount Lindesay is believed to have attracted an estimated 500 revellers on New Year’s Day.
Emergency services were called to the property around 10.20am after several people became ill.
One man was in a critical condition when paramedics arrived, and despite efforts to assist him, the patient went into cardiac arrest and died at the scene.
Two other men came forward with symptoms and also went into cardiac arrest.
Both were airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.
Police are now waiting to interview the event’s organisers.
