Police have praised the quick-thinking swimmers who pulled an elderly man from the ocean baths at The Entrance.
The 83-year-old was spotted face down in the water around 3PM yesterday.
Several people dragged the man out and begun CPR, but sadly, he died at the scene.
“I applaud those strangers, I applaud the lifeguard who instantly acted but unfortunately the gentleman could not be revived.”
