The 30-year-old Taree man who allegedly punched a police officer in the face yesterday, will remain behind bars.
The Manning-Great Lakes policeman was king-hit to the ground just after 4pm, following a call to a dispute on Victoria Street, Taree.
He was taken to Manning Base Hospital and cleared of any serious injury.
The accused has been charged with assaulting police and offensive behaviour.
