Newcastle Harbour is best known for its coal ships, but this morning something completely different stole the show.
A hot air balloon gracefully drifted down the harbour, pushed by a gentle easterly wind.
The pilot and his four crew flew just metres above the water, before turning the burners on, and heading for the heavens.
The flight ended about half an hour later at Lambton Park.
