A mid north coast police officer has been rushed to hospital after being punched in the face at Taree late this afternoon.
Police were called to a Victoria Street address just after 4pm, amid reports of a domestic dispute.
“When they arrived they were unable to resolve the issues and the matter escalated, as a result police attempted to arrest a 30 year old male from Taree,” Manning-Great Lakes Police said.
The 30-year-old has been taken to Taree Police Station, while the police officer is being treated at Manning Base Hospital for facial injuries.
