DRONE CAPTURES FOOTAGE OF GREAT WHITE AT REDHEAD

A drone has captured a rather close encounter between a surfer and a three-metre great white shark at Redhead south of Newcastle.

The shark was spotted just before eight-thirty yesterday morning, and forced the closure of the beach for more than two hours.

The drone was operating as part of the NSW Government’s shark surveillance trial, which will now run four hours a day until the end of January.
