MORE BORE WATER TO IRRIGATE SPORTING FIELDS
More than 200 mega-litres of Tamworth’s drinking water will be saved each year with Council set to irrigate more of the city’s playing fields with groundwater.
It’ll buy a licence to increase the amount of water drawn from the Peel Alluvium to irrigate the Riverside Complex.
The Gipps Street and Plain Street playing fields are already fully maintained by groundwater supplies.
