BOAT EXPLOSION INJURES FAMILY OF FOUR

A boat with four family members on board has exploded on the Central Coast today.

According to reports, the 6.7 metre vessel had just left Patonga wharf and was about 700m offshore when the explosion occurred just before 2pm.

A 34-year-old woman, a 35-year-old man, and an 8-year-old boy all suffered burns, while another boy, aged 7, suffered shock.

A passing boatie came to the family’s aid and returned them to shore. Members of the public then assisted before the arrival of paramedics.

The woman was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition, while the man and two children were transported to hospital by ambulance.
