The Federal Court has ordered Australian internet companies to block five copyright-infringing websites including The Pirate Bay.
The Court handed down the landmark ruling this afternoon.
Internet service providers have been given 15 days to implement the blocks for bittorrent websites The Pirate Bay, Torrentz, TorrentHound, IsoHunt and streaming service SolarMovie.
The Pirate Bay is a torrent website founded in Sweden in 2003 and thought to be the largest torrent file host in the world.
