A police vehicle has been damaged by a group of youths in Newcastle overnight.
Just before midnight, police responded to compaints about the behaviour of a large group of young people on Hanbury Street in Mayfield.
The group was moved on, but when returning to their vehicle, police saw a group of people fleeing along Maitland Road.
Police pursued and arrested four teenagers. They were later charged with damaging property in company.
The offenders, all boys, were aged between 14 and 16.
