A major police search is underway near Coffs Harbour for a man accused of pointing a shotgun at police TWICE, after fleeing a random breath test at Macksville this morning.
An area of the Newry State Forest near Urunga has been cordoned off by officers, who even had to turn away residents wanting to return to their homes.
The man is described as being of caucasian appearance, about 183 centimetres tall with short-cropped hair, and unshaven.
Police are urging the public NOT to approach him.
A command post has been established to supervise the air and ground search.
