MAURIRERE RETURNS TO COACH RATZ

Up to eight months of rehab from a knee reconstruction, will see Manning River Ratz coach Jake Maurirere back in the job next season.

Maurirere led the rugby union side to the preliminary final this year and says he’s keen to build on that.

“We had three or four guys that were still in school at the time and I think that year of rugby, I think they’re really going to mature a lot from last season,” Maurirere says.

Meanwhile,the side will be without young flanker Nik Mylonas and centre Chris Fitszimmons in 2017.
