BENTLEY RESIDENTS PROTEST TELSTRA TOWER
Bentley residents are protesting the construction of a new 40 metre-high communications tower, on Telstra-owned property, close to homes and a primary school.
They say the tower, which sits in a gully, will have limited range, decrease the value of their properties and potentially have health impacts on nearby residents and school children.
“It’s just inappropriate where they want to put it. There are plenty of other places and plenty of other land holders who have agreed to have it on their spot.”
Telstra says the tower complies with industry safety standards and World Health Organisation guidelines.
It will deliver 3 and 4G mobile coverage and is part of the Federal Government’s Mobile Blackspot Program.
