NORCO AGREES TO PAID DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LEAVE FOR WORKERS
Norco Diary Co-operative has agreed to give its ice cream employees access to paid domestic violence leave in what’s been described as a ‘landmark agreement’.
The Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union believes Norco is the first regional employer to implement such an agreement.
“One in six women in the workforce experience domestic violence during their career and that puts them at great physical danger , it puts their families in a really tough position.”
Under the deal, employees will be able to access three days of paid leave for domestic violence-related medial appointments, legal proceedings or family issues.
