NEW HERITAGE PARK PLAYGROUND OPENS

Lismore’s Heritage Park Playground has re-opened, six months after it was set alight by vandals.
$50,000 worth of equipment was destroyed, including two plastic slides, a climbing ramp and retaining wall.
Council hopes visitors will now return to the park for the summer holidays.
“It’s made it a lot quieter. There hadn’t been as many people coming to the park since it happened, so now that it’s re-opened it will, hopefully the people will start coming back again.”
Council says it’s investigating ways to prevent future vandal attacks.
