Newcastle basketballer Suzy Batkovic has helped to get Townsville’s WNBL season back on track, posting big numbers in the team’s road trip to Perth and Adelaide.
Against the Lynx, Batkovic had 25 points and 13 rebounds, but couldn’t stop the West Australians securing an eight-point win.
Townsville then travelled to South Australia to take on the Lightning, and Batkovic continued her imposing form, registering 18 points and 19 rebounds to help the Fire snap a four game losing streak.
For her efforts, the 35-year-old was named the league’s player of the week.
